Richard will be one of the many guests at this years Barbican Twisted Christmas. H will play a coule of songs as will many others inc ed harcourt and polly scattergood. Its a great event – certainly not a Hawley gig but something he is very happy to be involved in http://www.barbican.org.uk/music/event-detail.asp?id=9542
Richard is really excited to announce he will be playing Other Voices again this year (dec 9th), Truely one of the great moments in the years calander with the fantastic people of Dingle. This will be filmed and shown on RTE – we will find out a transmission date soon. The line up for the week is awesome
“Following on from the Haagen-Dazs advert featuring ‘Open Up Your Door’, Haagen-Dazs are now looking for people to submit their ‘melt together’ moments in a similar style to ‘Coles Corner’. There’s even a chance of winning a years supply of ice cream and various Hawley goodies. You can upload your stories of how and where you met your partners – past or present – to the Facebook site here: http://www.facebook.com/HaagenDazs ”
To add insult to injury – saddly Richard has had to re schedule his reschedueled Belfast gig at Ulster Hall. It will now be on 2oth dec not 2nd. Huge apologies for this but it was a completely imossible situation regarding a personal matter, otherwise there is no way Richard would reschedule this show. All tickets remain valid

ah, it seems this has leaked out already….After Richard’s successful gig at the Devils Arse Cave in castleton Derbyshire
18th december 09. last xmas we decided to do it again. Why? because we all loved it – it was Richards favourite gig of the year. Tickets are on sale at
http://www.sheffieldcityhall.co.uk/events/Richard_Hawley_Devils_Arse/
The gig is in the cave so there are a few obvious conditions and restrictions so please read this carefully. This year we’re trying to be very clear that the set will be 1 hour long. Its not longer because although everyone else can wrap up warm (which we strongly urge you to do), the band cant wear gloves so eventually their hands get cold. So no intention to short change anyone but we have to be realistic. This is a fantastic and unique show and we hope everyone comes entering that spirit of it being a huge event not just a Hawley gig. What we do is put together a full night of entertainment and that’s what the ticket covers. Richard will have at least 1 support band in the cave and hopefully a guest or 2 – we cant promise this but its an intention. After the show the local pubs will have other bands in them and this year we have PA’s for them so it wont be completely acoustic. Its quite likely Richard will drop into the local pubs after the show as he did last year (and those who stayed til the very end can confirm some impromptu jams finished the night). So its a night out in a beautiful Derbyshire village with numerous artists playing and the main event being Richard. Finally, once again please dont forget – dress warmly !
There are a handful of Crucible tickets available for both shows which had to be held back as we needed to check sight lines. The tickets are good views but not prime tickets – they will be side of stage not face on due to the nature of the venue – which is almost ‘in the round’ . So whilst not what we would describe as restricted view tickets we would underline they are side view so if you want a perfect view please dont buy them. Tickets ; : 0114 249 6000 Sheffield Theatres
Mencap’s little noise sessions
Islington Union Chapel 16-24 november 2009
Each year, Mencap and BBC Radio 1 DJ Jo Whiley host a series of acoustic gigs to raise money and awareness for Mencap. The line-up for Mencap’s Little Noise Sessions 2009 includes Richard Hawley + special guests 19th November and then gigs by Florence + the Machine, Mika, Taio Cruz and Editors.
The Union Chapel in Islington, London, is the venue for the gigs, which this year take place from 16-25 November 2009. The intimate church is famous for its acoustics, with room for just 600 music fans to enjoy each night. Each year, surprise performers – such as The Killers, U2 and Chris Martin – have joined the gigs.
“So far Little Noise Sessions has raised over £232,000 for Mencap, a fantastic amount, which has gone towards supporting Mencap’s arts award scheme,” said Helen Bamford, events project manager. “We are incredibly grateful to Jo Whiley and all of the artists involved for their support.”
